who is Lèonie?
Leonie’s namesake, Léonie Gilmour, was a free-spirited American woman who defied social taboos at the turn of the century.
She was the lover of Japanese poet Yone Noguchi, and eventually moved to Japan with him.
It was a bygone time, much different to now, where women had few rights in a male dominated society.
Going against convention and being fiercely independent, Léonie single-handedly raised a son and guided him to become the world-famous artist Isamu Noguchi — the timeless inspiration for our restaurant’s design and feel.
We are a very small venue so bookings are advised…
Thank you and hope to see you soon…
